Hey people of dystopia. I'm currently working on a map, and hopefully if I manage to finish, it might be something fun and interesting for everyone to play.
so I bet you wana know about the map, here goes:
Current Version:
<Removed Link>
Pictures:
<Removed Pictures>
Summary:
The idea at the moment is that, the map will be about the size of vaccine, good for pubs and competitive play. It will be indoors, and is based in a secret underground corp facility, the basic idea is that punks are there to steal something.
Cyberspace will be quite important, and I am aiming for it to be less spammy than most maps if I can make it so.
Notes:
If you have any ideas, suggestions, comments etc, just post them here or pm me/ message me on steam, thanks.
I don't know when it will be finished, it might be a while. Also thanks to everyone that has taken their time to help, I'll be sure to include some credit to you guys, easter eggs ftw

I will gladly evaluate this map's smartlockability.
But seriously, I'd love to help with playtesting, or whatever. More quality maps = more fun.

i want it to be fun and balanced, and also look good

Looks like a nice start. I didn't quite understand why opening the door caused the room to shake, but I'm sure it'll all make sense when the time comes.
Count me in for testing if you figure out why some people can't connect to you

ah that door thing was just a test, a lot of the stuff might change, im thinking the earthquakes will be random, once or twice in the round.
i think i got the cyberspace covered so far, now im just looking for ideas about objectives and a layout, im thinking like 3 objectives, to keep it small.

Give some opportunities to backhack! I love to play cat & mouse

Perhaps (and this could be the alcohol talking) a possible way to backhack.. would be to create a path to the previous objective... by tunneling.... through the rock...
what i mean to say is, the defending team has the choice of devoting all of their resources to pure defense of the last obj, or to have, say, a minigunner shooting and a long series of breakable walls in order to gain access to a previous objective (bypassing a thermal turret, perhaps?). at first it wouldnt be too risky to start tunneling, but as the tunneler goes farther into the tunnel he gets farther from the point his team is defending, thus increasing the risk. i suppose there would need to be a way to stop lights easily getting through with a katana, though :/
anyway, just throwin it out there.
EDIT: oohooh, or if there were a large drill with mechanics similar to the VIP obj in cybernetic... it moves slowly forward through the rock if there is enough force to push it. maybe, 1x heavy, or 2x medi, or 4x light. I know that if those numbers were used then obviously you wouldnt want to use 4 lights or 2 meds (why you would have that many lights defending anyway is silly). i just like the idea of a heavy being responsible for backhacking, without having to simply run into a room and hit a button (broadcast).

thx guys. nice idea phailcaek, ill see what i can make from all the ideas ive got
at first i was too worried about layout to make it balanced, although i think a better way to make the map would be to make a basic layout at first then refine it through testing. hope it works.
imo the cyberspace is fun and not as hard to make as meatspace, anyone else think that lol.

Good to see a new map in progress. I like that you experiment with textures a bit, wich is very uncommon among new mappers.

So I created a new version that can be hopefuly tested a little before I create more. Only 2 objectives, some parts are just temporary etc, but it is playable.
