Best Loadout(s)?

Hi I'm pretty new and need direction to the best sword+fighter combo(s)
Currently I'm using phalaynx (Or whatever his name is) + Rapier. I find this pretty nooby since I get massive thrust damage with the combo with little to no effort. I want a high skillcap combo and a rewarding one. Thanks.
