Dystopia at ESL

Hey!

You who read this todays probably remember the idea of moving the DGL over to the Electronic Sports League (ESL).

The reason why the DGL did not move basically was the fear of splitting the already small DGL into two fractions. But now that the DGL is dead, Dystopia could move to the ESL with patch v1.4.

The big advantage Dystopia has over games like Call of Duty, Couter-Strike etc. is that it is free to play. The big problem for Dys, however, potential players do not even know it exists.

Now the ESL ist a huuuge community full of people dedicated to gaming and always looking for new fun. I myself found myself to be looking for new games to play on the ESL once. So if Dys shows up in those lists of games at the ESL, perhaps Dys would have a greater stream of new palyers.

And as soon as there's a league to play and awards to win, that group of people that only gather awards for their profiles will test the game. And eventually, they'll like it.

Now if Dystopia ever gets a bigger palyerbase, the Gather-system would be a nice and easy way to get some scrims together.

What do you guys think about it? I was a bit late for the DGL vs. ESL debate tbh, but looking at the current state of the game, I don't see anything Dystopia has to lose. It just needs to be wrapped up in some sort of v1.4 press concept.

Sometime it's hard to have enough people to do some pugs... I don't see enough player to play ESL.

But, it'll be a pleasure to see this happening.

Well right now there's not enough players for any league. But should the community ever grow again, we should try starting at the ESL, rather than reviving the DGL.
