This is just a small guide for helping teams look for members and helping members look for teams.
The DGL website now has a recruiting section that you can use to search for members or a clan. You may find it here: http://www.dystopia-league.net/recruitment/show
Recruiting (Searching for members)
First off, as a clan recruiter or leader, you care about your organization so you would want it to be full of people who know how to get the job done and get along well with others. Before requesting criteria, you should provide some of your own, such as;
1. What is your clan's name?
2. What is their tag?
3. Do you have an active Dystopia game server? Locally run or remotely run?
4. Where are you based? Where is your server located?
5. Do you have a website? Address? Who runs it?
6. Do you have a ventrilo or teamspeak server? Do you share it with others?
7. What is your IRC Channel? AusIRC or GameSurge?
8. How many members do you currently have?
9. Are you participating in any leagues or organized play? Scrimming habits?
Follow this information and fill the applicant's head with what you have, and they'll be interested in no time. Now it's their turn. You'll want to include the information you want from the person, contained here:
Recruitment (Searching for clans)
This is good for two purposes, if someone is looking for a clan it's best that they provide this and if someone is recruiting for a clan it's good to ask for this. It's best to provide as much information as you can, to give off the biggest sense of professionality. Provide the following information;
1. Your callsign/nickname, first name and age.
2. Past clans.
3. Any organizations that you participate in, inside the Dystopia community. (AusDystopia, Playtester, DGL)
4. Your physical location
5. Your skills as a Dystopia player, this is key. What class you prefer, weapons you prefer, what role you are good at filling (Stealth, Support, Hacker, etc)
6. Where someone can reach you besides the forums.
It's also good to avoid saying something along the lines of "I'm good at this, or I'm good at that" because thats all a point of view and cannot be expressed anywhere else besides, in-game.
Remember to jump on the Dystopia IRC! Once you have mIRC installed, run these commands:
/server irc.gamesurge.net
/join #dystopia
/join #dystopia-league
Just be courteous and ask people if any clan or another is recruiting.
