Idea for a game or mod

Hi, my name is Rei, nice to meet you guys. I know this sounds rather strange, but I'm looking for some developers with some knowledge in sound and pattern manipulation that could possibly be interested in hearing out an idea I have had floating around in my head for quite some time. The technology has never been able to really DO it yet, but I believe with the upcoming advances in technology that it could be feasible.

This is kinda like Avatar, I've had the idea, but the world wasn't quite ready for it. So, here goes. I'm not a developer myself, mind you, this is JUST AN IDEA. This is me throwing this out and if it gets shot down, fine, if not, then it's at least something to think about.

And the reason I am posting this here is because "Music based fighting game" pulled your names up first, so I figure this is as good of a place as any. Blade Symphony is a pretty awesome name for a game, to start with.

Have you ever watched a music video with pure combat? You know, something like RWBY. Where the music is matched to the fights by design? What about a -game- with the same concept? Rethink everything you know about sounds. Instead of the charging of a hundred bad guys, it's rapid fire drums like you might see in a movie. Instead of sword slashes, it could be guitar riffs, designed to fit with the beat already made by the level.

Course, I could just be crazy, but could you imagine the auditory feedback you might get from that? If you were good enough, you might actually be able to play the game blindfolded with a good enough set of headphones.

So, the basic premise of the game setup in my head would be something along the order of one player, in the middle of a huge arena. Enemies charge in from all directions in time with the music and it's the player's job to beat them all. The ability to customize your character's looks and equipment would be paramount and give the ability to sell additions for DLC (Or steam workshop). After all, this is YOUR music video, you want your dude to look how you want him to. The weapons would be weaponized musical instruments, each with different ranges and effects. For instance, a drummer would probably have access to close range AOE effects, whereas a guitar player would be long ranged, multi-hits in the form of lightning or sound waves, or whatever.

So, sort of like a sound based Dynasty Warriors with massive customization. The customization (Weapons, tones and combos, perhaps some sort of super ability that uses a meter that can be built up over time in some manner ala Guitar Solo, that sort of thing.)

I'm also thinking that some sort of pattern built into the enemy types that would push players towards certain types of attacks or tones, weaknesses and the like.

It makes perfect sense in my head, I guess I'm really just looking for a place to put this out on paper and get some feedback.

Again, probably crazy, but man it would be ridiculous. With the graphical abilities of upcoming consoles, and the ability to record and put your videos up on youtube, it could be one of the coolest things to have people play. Perhaps some sort of link between uploads and views on "X game here" channel would give the players who uploaded it some points in the in-game shop. Just another thought.

Anyways, it's on the table, what does everyone think?

Sounds like a cool idea. Not sure if it's been done before, elements of the idea sound familiar.

Your idea reminds me of this video.
