This is a list of all of the alternate models/skins/sounds that our collective can find/create. Because some of the old weapons were awesome. And so is some of the other content. I'll try and upload everything you guys post to the Puny Human FastDL server. If I miss some, just PM me and take care of it as soon as I can. If you know of some that we don't have, upload and link! Thnx.

ViralHatred made what I believe is a Punk Themed JIP

Sounds
'Nuther Punk voice pack, inspired by Juan's.
"Pro" Sounds basicly replaces the weapons Bam! Bam! Bam! sound with a little voice that says MK MK MK. (All weapon sounds are included)
Sverek's Sounds
This sound pack is... Well, the sword sounds are... ummm, different, to say the least. :P
'Nuther sound pack from Sverek.
Lazor Power Up sounds. There's also an Ion sound in there...
Pro MK sounds
This Thread has WTFBOOM sound for the Cortex, IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZOR for Undermine, and Bwaaa for the Ion.

Hyphen-ated's Pro crosshair that shows very well in both light and dark areas.

I have this http://zero-flame.com/download.php?list.2 up so that anyone who has 3rd party content can upload it and it will be shared throughout the world lol therefore if anyone has skins or maps they would like to put up on there feel free to!

custom weapon reload sounds, added a tiny 'click' sound at the end of a reload so it's more obvious (esp. for the ION cannon):

I guess those no-viewmodel skins kinda counts as cheat, but they still got that pro ut feeling.

Technically they don't. They don't impede or improve your gameplay.

Technically they don't. They don't impede or improve your gameplay.
"r_drawviewmodel 0" requires "sv_cheats 1" to work. Technically they dont count as cheat, since changing skins is legal, but trust me, they do improve your gameplay.

I remember back in the olden days, my RTCW:ET crew would have the skeleton gun model so you could see what gun you had out and still have the extra viewspace. Being able to see more due to no weapon definitely improves how you play, but I won't use it because I forget what gun I have out and that ends badly. And it just feels less immersive.

Thanks for the reload noises. I love the fact that the ion animation shows its reload progress, but hate the fact that the fins retract before it's fully reloaded and you need to watch the tiny end bit spin down to see that it's ready. It looks great, but how nobody who tested it thought that was an issue, I have no idea.

Because if you use it more than not at all you memorise the reload time. I fucking suck with it, but know it.

If you guys are openly discussing invisible weapon models and some even admit to use them, make an official invisible weapon pack and release it on the DGL Site, imho.

and yeah Viral, i'd be interested :-)
i only decompiled and edited the model in Milkshape3D, moved the weapon a bit downwards so it falls outside the screen
im guessing you can change the texture to full black alpha layer?

A new (or pre v1) Tesla.
No such thing as a pre v1 Tesla... well, actually, that's not QUITE true. There was a Beta model for the Tesla... but it was like twice as big as the current one... and fugly... and untextured.

There's the concept for it in the media gallery. Funny story about it actually. The first night it was added to the beta (beforehand, it was the AR model firing Tesla shots :P), it was anchored wrong to the player. As a result, switching to the Tesla would put it on your head. We were running around and firing at IFF boxes that we could see through the gray untextured model. Was kinda like that scene in Star Wars where Luke tries to hit the remote with his lightsaber while wearing the blindfold, lol.

On a side note, this thread reminded me of a Vaccine inspired skin for OLD Steam that I made before the demo for Dystopia was released, way back in like... September of 2005.

The last version of it that I made even had the buttons renamed to things like "Jack-In", "JIPs", "Loadout", etc. Ah, to be young and foolish again :lol:

I'd now edit the alpha channel of Models/Weapons/mini_gun_skin.vtf to be 100% black. Job done. Now more Weapon Model. I'll gladly create a pack if you wish.

Notice that I removed the env_map (enviroment map which creates reflections on the model) because if wouldn't show on an invisible model, and if your cubemapps got bugged you'd get a rather buggy situation.
