I find it just mildly entertaining with great, great technical problems and the worst UI I can remember by a major developer. Unless they pull this build and substitute it with something completely different it is not a game I will play or recommend, more on the contrary. don't waste your money, this is not even alpha quality. Think "hellgate:london" as a measure. but then again, don't take my word, I found GTA4 the worst "openended gameworld" game in memory while the rest of the planet thinks it's video gaming history. I'm sure APB will get lots of awards as well.

I have never seen so customisation so deep in a game and I've played a lot of customisation-heavy MMOs.

It's basically a multiplayer shooter with 100 people per instance.

Some of the best experiences are among being dispatched against another group of players and engaging into furious shootout between two cars while sitting on the car's door, speeding.

I have been playing in the beta since October, it really is a fun game. The best way to enjoy it is to play with others, join one of the clans or find a group of players to play with. I say grab a beta invite when they are being given out and make up your own mind, the game won't be using a subscription fee or micro-payments.

Anyhow, i really like missions where i get dispatched against someone trying to complete an objective, it's kinda like Dys with cars, wimpy guns, third person camera and much bigger scale.

The UI, however, is truly atrocious so far. I know they're trying to keep it minimalistic, but it's just completely unintuitive.

can you give invites when you are in the beta ? 'cause then I could give you one for sure. nobody I showed the game had any interest and I stopped playing it after a few sessions. not my cup of tea. I don't get where the dystopia comparisons come from, the UI for example is leagues WORSE than any UI in any game, mod or not. I don't see that game going anywhere than into obscurity.

i also miss matrix online, years of my life went into that game. All hope left for that game now is MxOEmu, if they finish that and get the go from SoE, then MxO will be reborn hopefully.

Nope, its a closed beta atm. You can just give your account to someone else if you don't like it that much, ivve heard of people doing so despite it being forbidden. Just make sure you change the hardware profiles.
Anyhow, the dystopia comparison was a bit misplaced i guess. Yet, so far, imo the game looks unique enough to stay afloat for some time.

And hahah Trolly, do you really think that Sony, Warner Bros and Monolith, after decades of neglecting their own products, will suddenly allow some unknown third party who has been playing scrapheap challenge with their software to go commercial?
