I knew it!At Southridge High School, engineering technology students build launchers that allow for the rocket to be launched at a remote distance to prevent the launcher operator from getting wet and to keep the pressurized bottles at a safe distance in case they explode from too much air pressure or a weak spot.

The most frequently used launcher at Southridge is the "bucket launcher." Students insert their 2 liter rockets onto a 1/2" pvc pipe extending up from the bottom of a 5 gallon plastic bucket that is mounted upright from an old lawn chair.
