Want to use a gamepad, but having issues with facing

Hi, new user here.

I'm an old fart who is used to using a Nostromo Speedpad n50 with my FPS games on the Mac--one of the original n50s from many years ago. I would like to use to an XBox 360 gamepad for Blade Symphony. I built my own Windows Steam Machine (Intel i5, Nvidia 750), and my wireless keyboard ain't all that. So, if I could use a gamepad and avoid dropping money on a new Nostromo, I would be happy. I am having some probs setting up the open source drivers for the n50 in Windows 7.

The issue I am running into is that with the gamepad I constantly feel turned around and facing the wrong direction. Does anyone have experience with a good gamepad configuration, or I am faced with just trying to fit a Nostomo Speedpad n52 into my budget?

I'm really enjoying the game so far--its really a beauty.

You may want to ask in the steam community forums, some other players may be able to help.

Definitely getting a Nostromo pad of some kind. There is no way I'll have the control I need with a gamepad.
