Hosting your own server (not on own pc)

Hey there,

Im intrested in hosting my own dedicated server (Not on my own pc)

But I have a lack of knowledge in this area and would like some advise on how to get started

Ive seen two options:

Pay a website that directly gives me BS server, all done and ready starting form 7,50 usd/month

Or Rent a dedicated server and host BS on it.

What would you guys suggest? Where would be the best place to rent a dedicated server if its option 2 ?

Also do I need to use a steam account when hosting a server ?

PS: The server should be located in EU, preferable Frankfurt, Germany since thats kind of in the middle.

Option 1 would be the easiest. I would just see what permissions you have if you choose that option, i.e can you update the server yourself or do they have to do it for you.

By the time my post got approved, I found a solution. Went with the option 2, got my own dedicated server. Its much cheaper aswell and im running it at 60 tickrate atm its the EU Avalon server
